Your scratch is the result of improper installation of the windshield
wipers. I know because we have had to replace at least two windshields on
Audis because of this. The latest being my own recent delivery to CT. When
the cars are shipped over from Germany they have tiny blue plastic wiper
blades (resemble disposable razor cartridges). When the car is PDI'ed, the
temporary blades are replaced with permanent ones. Of course, the complete
bonehead move is to install the blade upside down.. resulting in the
scratch. I don't think you have a problem with the glass itself. 

BTW: To avoid unnecessary flames, I didn't know about the scratch until the
car was on route to the customer. The driver himself called me on his cell
phone to tell me about it. We told the customer about the scratch at the
time of delivery and agreed to have the windshield replaced.
