Re: 2.3l valve cover gasket



just the top half of the plenum needs to come off; there are five or six 6mm
allen head bolts in there.  The intake air boot, and the associated wiring to
the throttle body needs to come off as well. It's a pretty easy job, no major
alignment or anything needs to take place.  The plenum gasket usually comes
off in one piece. And the local audi dealer usually doesn't have it in stock.
(At least the abomination near me...)  I don't remeber if the gasket on yours
is rubber or cork. If it is cork, a rubber gasket is the way to go!   The
rubber ones usually don't start to seep a week later, like those lovely
corkies. Enjoy!
