The key here is that often you remove and replace a part that is not
completely bad yet.
Then the old part is a great back up in case of emergency need - or a
second vehicle with worse parts.

PS thanks to you guys, it is Audi Fox week next door at Carworks.  He
must have 5 or 6 of them in at once for various work...
