'87 air filter replacement

So what I'm gathering here is that it wouldn't be worth the effort to try and
fabricate something that might not work huh?

So what kind of horse power gain would I see with a K&N filter?

Also, is there ANYWAY to get the filter out?  I ended up taking off my entire
headlight unit to get it out.  Pain in the hiney!  It seems thaat the original
onwer didn't want to bother with it either, I had to use a shop vac to get the
crud out of the box!

BTW: I have been watching you guys for about 3 weeks now, and decided to join
in on the conversation.  Thanks for the welcome.  And don't worry I'll throw
more questions at you than you'll probably want.
