4000csq inquiry

    I just bought my first audi quattro.  It is an 86 4kcsq.  I picked
it up for $1,000.  It has 192,000 miles, and a few problems of course.
I am not quite sure if this will turn out to be a smart purchase, but I
am sure it will be fun finding out.
Problems:
    1. Drove it home (2.5hrs!!) and drove it all weekend.  Come monday
morning- turn the key, crank a couple of times- nothing.  Jumpstart it,
starts right up.  Change battery, same problem.  Wires on the battery
terminals seem alright.  Never got any warnings for alternator problems.

    2. Seems as though there is a gas leak in one of the lines.  It is
right in front of the middle exhaust.  How will this have to be fixed-
whole new line?  If so, is this dealer only?
    3. Headlights really suck.

Also, what should I look into for maintenance?  I just ordered all of
the ordinary stuff: Belts, filters etc.
