To add to checking the Load Reduction Relay (LRR), I would suspect the
ignition switch even more.  It is what supplies the LRR with power.  When you
activate the highbeam lever you are completing a power circuit that feeds
battery power thru the dimmer switch to the headlight switch (which shares a
common power connection for ignition and headlight switches) then to the LRR.
