Re: CIS-E fuel modification @ WOT
Great post Scott. Should be archived by anyone interested in CIS-E and
CIS-E III .
There is obviously much more going on with that temperature sensor than I
envisioned. I wonder if anyone has access to an EG analyzer? My one test
with temperature sensor induced enrichment was unscientific and
uncontrolled. It was a bad temp sensor that provided somewhere in the
vicinity of 500-800 ohms (can't remember precisely what I measured) when
the motor was at operating temperature. Comparisons made under those
conditions to those with a new temp sensor installed (about 225 ohms)
indicated the richer condition caused a loss of power below 3000 rpm and a
corresponding increase at around 5500-6500 rpm. Of course the bad temp
sensor put out enough fuel during cold starts to compromise flow through
the cat (no nine lives for that one). By the time I changed the cat I had
also changed the exhaust so direct comparisons aren't possible now.
Thanks again,
Bruce
