1989 Audi 90 Q

Good morning Audi fans.

Recently, my 89 model 90 Q has developed a problem such that when I come to
stop at a traffic light, the idle returns to where it should be, which around 850 rpm
to 900 rpm, but slowly it starts to creep up to a 1000 or even 1100 rpm.   Does any
one have any suggestions??? 

I am open to any suggestions.   Thanks a lot everyone.
