No.

Maybe.  When they go bad they can draw excess current.  The Bentley manual
specifies a maximum current draw, 7.5 A I think.

The other thing that happens is the connections on the relay pins get dirty
over the years and generate a lot of heat.  Use a good contact cleaner
or even remove the sockets and pinch them with pliers so that they grip
the relay terminals tightly.
