S4 Intercooler temperature

The new chargecooler and water injection should be ready for fitting
next week. In the meantime, I've hooked up a dual sensor thermometer to
the turbo and IC outlets to do some 'before' figures. I've run the car
pretty hard to try and cook the intake charge but I've been pretty
unsuccessful! It seems to have stabilised quite a lot lower than before
and doesn't seem to go into a heat frenzy any more (although the ambient
temp has been a shade lower recently). Why the change? Well, it could
be due to a tip that Ivor at TAP gave me. He suggested (and I'm sure he
wouldn't mind me copying it here) to cut a 8" x 6" hole in the plastic
inner wing behind the IC and fitting a grille over it. Not only does
the air have somewhere to escape, but the rotating wheel acts as an
extractor fan. It really does seem to help.

I have also ordered an aluminium flywheel and dual friction clutch from
ELP and I'll post a report once it arrives and is fitted.
