Testing wiper stalk switchgear on 87 4kq

In my quest to save some $$$, I need to test the switchgear for the wipers
in the stalk on an 87 4kq.

Now, I have zip for wiring diagrams, so any listers want to suggest a good
way to test?  My intuition says to flip it to intermittent, and listen for
relay action, or flip to on, and look for power at the wiper arm motor
leads.

Any BTDT?
