well, did a little research on porkers and racing...
using the 1997 year, and fia sanctioned events, the following were porsche's
successes: 0
specifics:
formula 1: williams/renault
rally (wrc class): subaru (manufacturers)
gt1: mercedes
gt2: viper
class 2: various (uk: renault, germany: peugeot)
le mans: joest (porsche engines)
so porsche isn't #1 in racing, although they have a tradition which is the envy
of all (most) other manufacturers.
