Re: Buyer Beware (long and pathetic, limited q-content)

Hi Phil,

I certainly understand your position on this issue. I have been on both sides
of this fence. I can't tell you how many times in my career, I have held a car
for someone who was on his way to "buy" a car and either be a no show or have
misread this customers needs and not had the interest I thought he had.
In this case yesterday, were the shoe on my foot with a scheduled appointment,
with you, and someone wanted to buy the car on the spot, I probably would have
taken a deposit from him pending the outcome with you.
On the one hand I've had people tell me that I have only one chance, now or
never with them. On the other hand, I've had people not appear for a scheduled
appointment, and lost the second buyer to cold feet. They think if the first
guy passed or did'nt show up, then there's something wrong with the car that
they missed.
Either way, it's a tough spot to be in if you're the seller and someone comes
along like that.
Rest assured, I would have waited for you. if I KNEW you were coming.
