Re: 4kq won't start follow-up
There is a pre-pump filter not far from the gas tank. Usually gets
overlooked and many times has never been changed. It's about an inch in
diameter, the Bentley has a pretty good diagram. It's cheap and worth a
shot. May help you out?
Interesting thing though, my '87 (2/87 build) did not have one (ever). I
replaced the pump two years ago (it was getting noisy), prior to moving to
CO from CA. The new pump started to make noise soon after, I had the
pre-pump filter installed and it quieted it nicely.
