Techron
Q-folks,
During my recent 60K service, the Audi folks said that I should be running
Techron... I've checked the archives and find that you all recommend a
bottle in the tank just prior to an oil change, because the deposits that
the Techron cleans up either get combusted, or they end up in the oil pan.
I've never used this product in the 35K miles that I've owned the car.
Questions?
a) I don't understand how the deposits would end up in the oil - but then
again, I don't know a lot about this sort of thing.
b) Since an oil change was included in the 60K service, should I wait until
I'm close to my next oil change (as recommended), or put some in my next
tank, and possibly another treatment just shy of the next oil change.
c) Lastly, are there any brands which you prefer over others...I've picked
up a bottle of Chevron Techron, but there were also several other brands
which seem to indicate the same type of product such as STP, etc.
Thanks in advance for your advise.
Eric
