spam and news

I assume this is news in the sense of newsgroup? I've never used a newsreader,
but I've just gotten an account with an ISP, and there's a first time for
everything!

For me, a lot of it comes down to the functionality of the software on my end.
Once I get going with an Internet mail reader, I'm planning to uns*bscr*be at
this address and s*bscr*be (you'd think I was hinting at dirty words! :) thru
my ISP. A lot of the rationale for this is being able to set up filtering to
dump qlist stuff into a dedicated folder. Never having experienced a
newsreader, I can't compare the bells and whistles of one to those of my mailer.
