I noticed mine was hesitating when shifting into second gear on the way home
from picking it up (hmm... funny how I didn't notice it during the test drive)
from the dealer. I brought it back within that week, and instead of tearing it
down to figure out what the problem was, Audi gave the dealer the approval to
replace the whole tranny under warranty. The tranny cost $5k!! Sure glad that
I didn't have to pay that bill!!

FWIW, the car had 49k miles on it then... which was in June of 1995. My car is
a '92 100S.

Since then, the tranny has been fine. I changed the fluid some time ago... to
Amsoil synthetic.

Ouch!! Let's just hope that there is no fix that needs to be done!! See
above... $5k for a new one!! :-(
