Well, let's see, the OEM wiring is inadequate, you're upping the
wattage, but getting the current away from the switch.  I think it will
work but that's an awful lot of trouble to go to to build such a sparely
specified system.  Why not just rebuild your previous project using what
you've learned to improve its neatness?
