Re: [Fwd: Anti-Rollbar Distortion?]
I wouldn't go that far.(Hoists, cables etc.) What is required is that
both wheels be on the ground with the full weight of the car on them at
the same time. The trick here is to have the wheels "chocked" at the
correct locations. the control arm only controls the movement in one
axis. The anti-sway bar acts as the other side of the "A" arm. If you
don't have the wheels chocked, the wheels are free to roll forward and
backward (and slightly in and out at the same time). This makes for a
very fun time trying to get the sway bar back in. You can (and should)
do it without bending the bar, but you must loosen both front mounts and
the other side nearly all the way, and use the chocks on the wheels.
HTH,
Wolff
P.S. I have done this several times in the last few months.
P.P.S. Do this safely. Make sure you have jack stands under both sides
at all times and so on.
