Why *I* drive an Audi
Well, like many of us, I too was hooked at a young
age of 13. I can still remember a mars red Ur-q on the
show room floor at the local Audi dealership. No,
my father didn't purchase this beautiful automobile
but instead he drove home an '82 4000 S demo in
which he saved thousands on. I would go down to the
dealership every weekend and gawk at the Ur-q. Then
one day I saw it go out on a test drive. I'll never forget
the sound of my first hearing the 5 cylinder whine. It
was the most unusual yet satisfying tune coming from
that auto! When the test driver came back and looked the
car over with a huge smile on his face, he then mentioned
that he'll "take it".
No, I've never owned an Ur-q although I've driven many.
So I guess one could say that it was the 5 cylinder that
really got me hooked. Ever since my first '80 5000 S to
my '85 4000 q, then to my '87 Coupe GT 2.3l and finally
to the '87 5k Tq, I've always enjoyed the beautiful music
these cars make all the way to redline! There are plenty
of other reasons including being an avid skier and needing
quattro but I'll spare everyone the details. Just thought I'd
waste some bw as I'm really starting to miss the q now!
