Re: Why do YOU own an Audi?
After reading all these posts, I have to tell my story:
1971- fresh out of college, no real job, helping out a friend in the
used car reconditioning business. Also doing new car prep for the local
P+A dealer. Drove many, many 100LS. That was when FWD was really new. I
developed an appreciation for 'fuel economy' and handling in the NE
winters.
1973-bought my first 100LS. Had good luck with it.
1976- traded the 73 and bought a 76 100LS. Again, no problems, loved it.
1984- traded the 76 for a new 85 4ks still fwd...daily commuter in the
NE and again no real problems. Taught my wife to drive stick when it was
2 months old...we all survived! She wouldn't let me drive it after that.
1992 - traded the Audi for an Olds, in a fit of patriotism :) hated the
car from the day I bought it...
1998 - traded the Olds for a 98 A6 Q after considering the Aurora and
BMW 3-series. Have no regrets. The A6 is the 'best' for my needs. A good
combination of driving car and family car. After a couple 8-900 mile
trips this winter, I wouldn't trade it for anything else.
Besides, its great being back with the four rings. It's been a long time
coming...
