824ksdiesel for Sale
I have a second owner 82' 4000s diesel. It works fine but several minor
things. The air, sunroof and cruise work fine. Every thing is original on the
car and the mileage is unknown due to the Odometer breaking in 1990 at 129k
miles. The car was my dads until his death and I took it over from my mom
three years ago and have driven it about 30 k each year.
History:
There were detailed records kept on service of this car up to 1990. Every bill
was kept. The engine was replaced at 60k due to oil filter blowout. The air
conditioner was replaced around 90, the clutch was replaced in 95, the fuel
injector pump was rebuilt in 1989, the sunroof cables replace in 90, the front
strut blocks replaced in 96, the timing belt replaced the last time in 97. The
car is almost rust free. It only major damage was when a 5 gal pan fell off a
truck right in front that damged the front spoiler.( Audi repaired ). The
inside driver seat is good condition, the other front seat is in great
condition, the backseats would be great but the top of them has some Sun Rot.
( My dad spent 3000 on Repairs and I've spent about 1000 other than oil
changes)
The car made my dad very happy because he worked for TVA and had to visit the
Audi plant back in the late 70,s to test Electric VW van sand really liked the
Audi they drove him to the factory and thought they made a great diesel. He
had records of some very long trip that he made where he acually got over 50
MPG. Knowing my dad though he probably drove it 50 miles per hour to do that
but even now it will still get in the 40's on a trip. The car does use some
oil and leaks some too but it is understandable for a car that has est 250,00-
300,000 on it. An Very good factory audi mechanic said his daughters same age
car has 500K on it.
I need to know if anyone is interested in this car or if I should save it and
have it fixed up for my son to drive in two years. If you have an interest
please send E-mail to TomHauburn@aol.com as this is an Email just for the Audi
net.
