Anyone BTDT? Are the devilish triangular clips a standard type of

devise some other way of holding the covers firmly in place?

I did it three times three different ways.
1. Ground two notches in a long visegrip and reused the original clips.
What a nightmare.
2. Same but made new clips out of a coat hanger. Still a nightmare.
3. When I recently repaired the torn upholstery on my rear seat, I used
plastic wireties instead of metal clips as per some lister's advice. I
don't remember who it was but I am eternaly grateful for the tip.
