Good guide to driving a Q needed

Hey everyone...one thing that's notably absent from the various archives
and such is a well-writen, researched, easy to understand, down to earth
guide to driving a car with the Quattro system. As I will probably be
moving to a quattro car soon, several questions come into my mind:

-How to recover from skids? I wouldn't know how to in a quattro to save my
life(it very well could.) Several people have told me that AWD cars are
much more difficult to recover from skids in, and you really have to know
what you're doing. I don't, and I suspect 50% of the people on this list
or more are in the same position, and this should be addressed.

-Under what situations would you activate the different differential(say
that 10x fast) locks, specific to each "generation"; ie, 4k's and 5k's with
the center/center+rear, 100's, 200's with rear lock only, etc.

For example, in Audidudi's trip report, he mentions locking the center diff
on a highway with rain, and that let him go faster. Why?

I think that if some experienced listers could shed some light onto the
above questions, it would be greatly appreciated by all...
