21mpg is about right.  That's what I get for a combined city/hightway
cycle on my A4q.  The car may not be large, but it's a heavy, sturdy car,
and does have all wheel drive and lots of gizmos.  U.S. A4 quattros
has a curb weight of some 3300 lbs...

If it dies during idle, then there is something wrong.  Your dealer
should be able to plug in their scan tool and be able to read the
fault memory and determine the cause.  Your car should still be in warranty
so let them handle it.
