Suspension upgrade / popping noise from front of car

I am in the process of upgrading the shocks/struts on my '92 100S from the
stock ones currently on it to Bilstein HD's ($389 for a set of 4 from RD
Enterprises in CA www.shox.com ). With my current suspension, I get a
popping noise from the front of the car (passenger side I think) when
turning and also when I go over dips in the highway. I think the subject of
this popping noise has come up before, but I do not remember what it is. Any
ideas? I'd like to be able to repair whatever it is while the new suspension
parts are being installed. BTW, for all you 5ktq owners out there, another
lister mentioned earlier that the Bilsteins that fit my car ('92 100S) are
the same for the 5ktq (P36-0369 for the fronts, B46-1573 for the rears).
I've been told that anything under $400 for a set of Bilstein's is a pretty
good price. TIA.
