Yea, the A008 tires are dot legal and can but used in soloII.
Fair Warning: Some scca regions have a +2sec penalty for cars that race
on R compound tires OR put the cars into another category (race tires in
one, street is another).
<rant> Yea, penalize the guy who buys tires, but what about shocks?
</rant>
But $80 for a set of warn, 4 year old tires? Try to get it down a few
bucks. R compound tires will get hard without use and loose its
advantage. I had a set of Bridgestone r compounds that hardened, but
after a few miles of driving it loosened up. These had 3/4 tread, the
tires you are looking at are kinda worn.
If you want to really get into the sport, invest in a set of tires--
Yokohama has a new tire and BFG has the R1 and soon the Gforce.
You could spend $80 a race putting on used rubber or a new set at $350
to $450 that will last until next year.
btw-- I gave away a set of 205-55-16 a008rsIIs 2 weeks ago just to make
way for the BFG R1s I had coming.
Good Luck
