BTDT with the upper hose. I simply cut the old permanent crimp with a
chisel and secured the new hose with hose clamps. I didn't enlarge the end
of the line. I think the pressure in the cooling system is low enough that
the friction force created by a tightened hose clamp is more than
sufficient to hold the hose in place. It's been working fine for almost two
years.
