RE: S6 PLUS, S6 PLUS Limosine E and S6 Plus Avant

Audi AG had the keys to an S6 Plus! waiting for me at a Munich Airport Hotel
January of 1997!

It was equipped with the following:
4.2 V8 340hp
6-speed gear box
HID lights - very very very good.  As Marni and I exited the underground
parking garage and turned on the lights there was a bluish flicker and then
daylight.  Both of us in unison said "Yeess!!"

I drove it around Germany and Austria.  It was very smooth but the torque
was peaky.  It did not have the long rush of power of a modified turbo car.
Others who were with me were Leif Johnson and Craig Hillis also from
Washington State.  If you know their Email you could ask their opinions too.

The 6 gears were well spaced and flawless.

This last January I was given an A8 for the three weeks I was there.  The
most impressive things out it was the luxury and most of all the GPS &
Inertial Navigational System connected to  the satellites and the wheels
that could among other things speak English!!!

Verbal messages like:

Turn right 300 meters
Turn next right
Bear left
Continue following the road
Wait for further instructions
Prepare to exit right in 2.5 km
And my favorite:  Make a U-turn if possible
