In the original display in my 93 90 the whole display was orange and
this wasn't a problem.  In the new display they gave me (morons)
everything is red except the defrost part, and that is orange.  The
haziness is just the change in color.  This is the same on my mother's
97 A4.

I haven't noticed a big quality change between the 90 and the A4, but I
have noticed that the A4 is a little more cramped.  Also I hit my head
on the door frame every time I get out of the A4...
