Phil,
  I have a figure of 60K( re Bosch) in my head as to suggested change of
filter. I think real indicator is symptom of poor performance unless you
get your gas out of 50 gal drums that were delivered by dohws :-).

 N.B. When replacing a fuel filter,  (Bosch again) it is very
important to fill the filter with fuel before connecting. i.e. do not
install dry. Apparently, the rush of pressurized fuel into the filter is
enough to turn the filter into confetti so to speak, by collapsing the
fin arrangement, and even sending bits of paper, however minute,
downstream into the FI system.


PS. love those Bosch booklets, expensive but worthwhile
