They will have their little jokes

Those mischievous Audi Gods that is.

I spent some 3 hours last Sunday working over the Urq ready for its MoT
test. By the time that I had finished it was spot on (by MoT standards), I'd
adjusted the headlight aim, checked all the cv boots, ensured that the
hydraulics and the exhaust didn't leak. I even replaced some old and
tatty-looking fuses.
The testing station that I use is out in the sticks and is run by a lad who
likes to see unusual vehicles and appreciates them being looked after. You
know how a lot of testing stations now like you to sit in a waiting room
like an expectant father? Not this guy - We were talking so much that the
half hour test took 90 minutes. Things took a down turn when surprise,
surprise it failed the lighting section because one of the main beams was
dead. The right hand one of course. I told him to complete the test and that
I'd buy a bulb from him and fit it as he watched but then a thought struck
me. While he was setting things up for the emissions test I took a look in
the fuse box and sure enough one of the new fuses that I had fitted last
Sunday had blown. Swapped it out and drove away 20 minutes later with this
years ticket and a warning that the exhaust was starting to leak from one of
the joints.

I think that the emissions test confirms my thoughts about the fuelling. As
I
mentioned last week, judging by the colour of the exhaust pipes the engine
is running rich at low revs. The test showed that the hydrocarbons were on
the high side at 980+ while the CO was really low at 0.18%.
