Noise in rear

Of course the subject heading is for your reading enjoyment!
Anyway, looking for BTDT on a scrunchy, ringing metallic noise on the 
rear driver's side of my 5000. Thought it was the exhaust. Replaced all 
hangers. Noise is most prevelant when driving over irregular surfaces, 
but like all things Audi, not all the time.

All suggestions greatly appreciated.
