Re:Cracks in firewall at clutch '85 4KQ



I fired up the ur-q on the weekend and took it for a spin (great fun lots of smiles). Over the Winter I had forgotten just how stiff the clutch is! It takes significant leg force to depress it and it has to be pressed all the way down to fully engage. There are no signs of clutch slip. Any suggestions on whether this is a mc, slave or clutch (internal) problem? I guess the first step is to bleed the system?

BTW, I have already had a the firewall reinforced with a steel plate at the clutch mc.

p.s. I don't believe it's the input rod bottoming out since I have to depress the clutch a long way to get the clutch to disengage properly. Possibly air in the system...
