RE: Rally car licensing question...

I'm not too sure how they do it either...I know that Buffum's S2 just had
manufacturer's plates on it, so that was easy. As for Merrill's car, I
wonder if Sun International, in Ca., had something to do with it. They
import lots of Escort Cozzies for street use, as well as other non-US cars.
Check out http://www.suninternational-usa.com.

As for Henry's Lancer, and now a new Lancer Evo IV that's competing in PRO
Rally, I have no idea how they got those cars registered. Henry's car is
registered at his home in Michigan, and I saw that the new Lancer is
registered in Illinois (where TAD is located). Murray Thomas at TAD,
prepares both cars, so I'm sure he could tell you what needed to be done to
get the cars in. I don't have a number for Murray handy at the moment, but
maybe Paul Timmerman or Ron Wood does.
