Volvo c70 (little Audi content)

Today I saw, for the first time, a Volvo c70 convertible. Eye-popping for
a Volvo. Really a stupendous job. Snarling turbo 5, loads of gadgets
(stereo looks terrifying), very nice lines. Picture an Aston DB7 on a Saab
900 scale. Weird, but true.
Now, my question is, why can't Audi do something like this? I admit, it's
all with an eye toward getting one used someday ($50k ragtops are a bit
out of range) but I began to think of other approaches than the (IMO)
ridiculous-looking TTS.
Think of how the Coupe GT looked in comparison to the 4k. Now, execute a
similar graceful fastback transformation on the already beautiful A4. Make
it pillarless, perhaps. Insert the full S4 package underneath. Offer a
corresponding drop-top (without chrome windshield surround, please).

Voila! The true successor to the urQ!
I'd appreciate opinions on this. Am I the only one who finds this sort of
car far more appealing than that TTS?
I do realize that this sounds also like an updated version of the 90-91
CQ/93-98 Cabrio. But when the Cq came out, its main competition was the
Eclipse AWD at some 10K less. But in a current market, with the M3, c70,
Benz CLK, and even the Saab 900SEt for comparison, wouldn't an S4 Coupe
make sense? Certainly it would be more convincing than the current 172hp
Cabrio in this segment...
Sorry for the ramble,
Rob
