Yes.

No.

Overfilling a manual transmission is dangerous because it can foam and
produce enough pressure to pop a seal.  The only way to drain and fill
a manual box/differential is through the 17mm Allen screws recessed in
the side.

Classic hint - make sure you can open the filler before opening the
drain.
