JY engine type finally identified, and some issues regarding service.. :(

Hi.

Some time ago i asked wether some of you could identify an I5 type JY,
because the Danish distributor was VERY reluctant to share any info, as soon
as they heard that the car was imported. Noone could.
Writing Audi via their website only got me the answer: "The Danish
distributor will help with any question you might have".
Tried again; same answer.
Then, in frustration i wrote the FDM (united Danish car-owners).
Allthough being far from optimistic, they tried their own sources at the
Danish distributor, and a month later they got the following answer:

Unfortunately we can not help.
We do not receive any information on veichles, wich for one reason or
another has been modified for countries having specific technical demands-
in this case supposedly enviromental causes.
The enginetype in question is exported in veichles sold in Schwitzerland
from 08.83 to 07.87 and Austria from 08.83 to 07.84.

Therefore i will suggest your customer to contact the Schwiss Audi importer
<Name of Importer>.

Maybe they can supply him with the information he wants.
Best Regards

What a load of B***S*** ! (smokin' out the ears)

The Danish distributor has once on the phone told me that the engine was a
2.2litre turbo with 182hp. After that he found out it was imported.

So...
Having thought about that letter (quite)a bit, i have now decided to write
directly to Audi AG.
But to whom. Preferably the service dept. or maybe directly to someone (in
german) who is able to see that the Danish distributor in fact is writing
that they are unable to repair a cat not imported by them. And is able to
act upon it.

It would also be interesting to know what will be done from AUDI AG to
ensure that a used Audi bought in another country isn't orphaned.

I hope that the (official) Audi support doesn't stop at the second owner, or
at some border wich happens to seperate two countries.

Now i am looking for that special recipient, who cares.
Any suggestions ?
