Whoa everyone (you know who you are)!  _The_ safe solution is using
the right tool.  It is called a triple-square by some, twelve point
by others, and probably something else as well.

Snap-On, KD, and others make 'em.  I got a KD for something like $5.
Don't remember the size though.
