1990 200T questions

Two quick questions for the group...first, my 1990 200T (fwd automatic) has
woken up grouchy the past two mornings...no idle, if I take foot off gas
after first startup it dies. Second startup sounds like its flooded...it
has started on the third try.

No other symptoms.

Anyone have thoughts on what could be wrong? Cold start valve?

Second...about an hour into a drive today, I had the brake pad warning
light come on. Pulled over, shut off engine, checked fluid, etc. No problem
seen. Started engine, warning was gone. It came back again several hours
later into the drive. Again, shutting off the engine and restarting cleared
the warning.

It was rather damp out, but I hadn't driven through any puddles. Could this
be a failing brake pad sensor? I *think* I did pads less than 20K ago.

Thanks!
