conversion using a 4000Q radiator. I replaced every hose and clamp in the

switch. Even in NYC traffic it runs a lot cooler than it ever did. We'll
have to see how it handles the AC in traffic in the summer. As for the oil
temp, I can't get mine above 90C even driving at unsafe speeds down remote
sections of I80. What gives?

Thanks for the info. Both of the 2 responses I've received have said the
same thing: using a 4000q radiator isn't a problem at all. Did you buy an
all metal radiator? If so, for how much and from where? My only concern
is that the k24 is not as efficient as the k26 at the higher boost
pressures, so it may generate more heat on the track. Maybe it's time to
do some calculations...

this an engineered solution? I would love to upsize the IC, but I'm still
living in K-26 land with 13.5 psi of boost. Any thoughts greatly
appreciated as to IC upgrades. I thought about the 200 series IC but it
would require a lot of cutting to get it in.

The IC is in the same location as the stock unit, but it is tilted rearward
instead of being vertical. This required removing the lower plastic
shield. This was done by an ABT dealer in Southern California (out of
business now) in about the mid-eighties. I'm sure it was a "bigger is
better" approach because the surface area is almost exactly 2x the stock
intercooler size.

I'd rather have a '91 200 tq IC mounted where the aux. radiator is now, but
have not thought that entirely through. I think one would have to route
the intercooler hoses in the bumper cavity to get all the plumbing to fit
if it is possible at all.
