225/50/16's on A6 Quattro Wagon?

I have a 1995 A6 Quattro Wagon and am looking to replace the stock
195/65/15 tires with 16" wheels and tires.  I also have a 1990 V8 Quattro
with the brake conversion that I'd like to eventually switch the new tires
and wheels to when I eventually sell the A6 Wagon.  (Hopefully for the new
A6 wagon in a few years).  I was thinking of the 205/55/16's that are on
the 1997 A6 wagons, but that would be downgrading the V8 as its stock tires
are 215/60/15's. Does anyone know if 225/50/16 tires would fit on an older
style A6 or 100 series?  

What about the offset differences (45mm on the A6 vs. 38mm on the V8)  I
was thinking of using the A4 wheels but the offsets would make the wheels
too far inset on the V8.  Would I have to use the A8 style wheels, if I
could even find any?  Or should I just put 215/60/15's on the A6 and skip
the 16" wheels and tires?
