To Paint or... ? (min q)

A theoretical for you potential buyers (of any used car) out there...

Situation:

The syncro is slowly being taken off IV & I'm feeling muy guilty about it.  However, what with the new syncro due soon and fits of fancy for the S4 avant running through my mind, I may end up letting her go in the not so far distant future.

Question:

How comfortable would you personally be about purchasing a newly painted car?

I am considering this measure for a couple reasons.  #1, smoothing out the dings and new Tornado Red paint may make me reconsider giving the syncro up.  #2, the car already has tonnes of miles on it and while it has never been in an accident, I would think a potential buyer would be turned of my the faded paint.

My idea:  take numerous before pictures to "prove' that the painting was done purely for aesthetic reasons and not because of any harm done to the car.  (Although an errant shot of the hockey puck broke a tailight section this weekend. argh...)
