'89 100Q still "dead"
My soggy saga continues.
After 12 days of being out in the rain, my '89 100Q (which has
always run a little rough when soggy) wouldn't even turn over
a little bit. Good cranking, no start.
After 2 days of drying our including spraying "wire dryer" on
EVERYTHING, it starts! But won't run. At least it's back in the
driveay instead of out on the road stuck....
It will start fairly easily, and will run fine for 3-5 seconds.
Then will idle just fine, but stepping on the gas makes it sputter
and pulse between 1000 and 1300 RPM. No power at all. More gas will
threaten a stall.
Wires and plugs are fine. I'm thinking fuel starvation? Messed
up filter (which I'm about to replace when it STOPS RAINING again!)
or clogged pump/line? I put some isopropyl gas dryer in, didn't
seem to help. Haven't pulled codes lately (got a "knock sensor"
code once?).
Please help me diagnose this! Gotta get it running so I can get
the bricks out of the trunk and into my sidewalk.
