Driver's Window Revisited

Hi Folks,
This is typical Audi bizarre.  My driver's window and speedo stopped
working right after the chip and spring upgrade.  I thought the two were
unrelated.  I figured the speedo problem was the absolutely hacked up
wires being moved a little whilst I was fighting to put in the 1.8
spring.  I knew the wires were screwed so I didn't worry about the
speedo; figured I'd fix it when opportunity presented itself (after I
fixed the window).  The driver's window was a different story
altogether.  Just stopped working.  Figured it may have been the heavy
rain.  The combined list wisdom said door wires.  I looked under the
accordian boot in the door jamb, wires look ok, so I was wondering what
was up.  Thinking maybe the part in the window reg that Tony Lum
suggested was bad.  Anyway, got in this morning, BOTH speedo and
driver's window working fine.  WTF???  Are these related?  I'm
confused...
