I'm a reformed Rain-X user.  I used to love the stuff, but if you don't
keep up with putting it on you are in trouble.  Now I go to keeping the
windshield squeaky clean.  To clean off Rain-X, I use the windshield polish
from Griot's garage.... works great!  The other thing that works is Turtle
Wax Bug & Tar Remover...it's a white liquid cleaner stuff that also seems
to take everything off.......SLM
