Supper Fast Radiator Fan

My radiator fan has decided it wants to run at Turbo Speed.  It sound
like a jet.  From what I can tell it is running at the
correct times but at just super fast.  It seems as though this could be
a resistor.  Does anybody know if this could be a proper diagnosis.  If
so, where is the resistor?  It doesn't seem to be readily available. :)

On a lighter note.  Id the Audi 500 in South Africa the same as the 5000
series in the US.  There are loads of them in South Africa and they look
identical to the 5000 I have.
