Big Reds v. Wilwoods

Couple of things:

1. The only persons I have heard of that sell a brake-set for $1,650
are George Baxter and Eric. I have never spoken to George, as I do
not think he is on the list. Eric, I have been trying to reach for
many months now, to no avail. Certainly, I would be interested in
speaking to either of them about several things.

2. I think the brakes on these cars may be ok if you have a granny
driving them. Fact is, many on this list have added hp and drive,
well, aggressively. The stock brakes, under these conditions, are no
better than the stock headlights, or window switches. I have used
aggressive pads for some time now and they help. However, I have
wanted to upgrade for a long time now. About a month ago, I read the
posts related to "Big Reds" and was impressed. So, chased down a ride
in a car with them--a 911tt. Now, I have never felt the stopping
power of brakes like this before, in my life.

Would I pay $3,000 for them? In a F'ing heartbeat. My problem is, I
cannot use 17" rims where I live and drive. So, I am looking for
alternatives. From what I hear, the ones that will fit in a 15" or
16" off the shelf rim have compromises. If it is true that the
Wilwood calipers need to be rebuilt each year, that is a compromise,
no doubt. At least for this guy.

Frank, I don't know you, but your car looks great!
Congrats.

Eric, call me.
