Cleaning Fuel pumps, Vapor Lock?

Hi,
I've recently been getting this noise from my pump, and it won't run
properly when hot (hessitation on acceleration, low power etc). I was
going to replace the pump, but it is only about 14Mts old, so how exactly
do you clean one?
Also, what exactly is Vapor Lock? I understand it to be caused by vapor in
the injectors when hot? Could this be my problem?
My car has the external pump on an 82 A100. (New Injectors 10k, Fuel
Distributor OK, Warm-up Regulator OK, HT Leads 10k and loads of brown sh!t
in the system.)
Cheers,
Mike Walder.
