Fellow Audi fanatic,
My car (1987 5000 CD Quattro) is the same way, all my breakdowns have
been in the driveway. They were heater valve, electric water pump, top
connection on rad, clutch master cylinder, clutch, field wire on alternator,
alternator, ignition switch, top rad hose, and coolant hose for turbo. I
guess I've been very "lucky" that way.
